What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way to publish frequently updated web content such as news headlines.
Using either a browser, a standalone program or a web service, you can subscribe to an RSS 'feed' and keep up to date
without constantly checking a particular web site.
Firefox and
Internet Explorer 7 can read RSS feeds,
as can Thunderbird; alternatively a web service such as
NewsGator or Google Reader can be used.
Wikipedia have a page describing RSS, as does the
BBC news site.
